Hello again fellow gamers and devs!
Sorry for the week late post everyone. Life kind of slapped me in the face a bit last week and had other important things to take care of. Computer problems were not apart of the misfortunes this time and I was able to keep some progress moving forward on my next game...just a little slower progress than usual. Quick update on that: The dame design documents, the tech aspects at least, are finished but, while the story/stories still need some work, I was able to break some ground on the game itself. I got the title screen and main menu for it just about done. All I need to do now is set up the save and load data structure and custom control screen and then I can begin on the core gameplay elements...probably starting with the user interface/HUD first. Design and the art style has been a big focus for me on this next project. I wanted it to be something a little more unique or less ventured and, while it may take a little longer, I think it will be worth it in the long run. Can't wait until I can start sharing some screenshots or gifs of progress but still need more done before I can make that announcement. I just also need to make sure to put just as much focus, if not more, into the gameplay and find that balance.
BTW - side note - Been a minute since I put Probe on sale so get it this week for 50% off! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1275980/Probe/
I didn't have much time to prepare my topic for this week due to everything I had going on but since I brought up the art style being a major focus for my next game I've decided I'll make next weeks topic on games with unique art styles and how well I feel they worked for specific games... some of which may have inspired me for my current work in progress. Will probably be a top 5, maybe 10 if I have the time. Until then, hope all is well and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already!
