Weekly Post #24 - Happy New Year!

Hello again fellow gamers and devs!

Happy New Year! 2020 was a rough year on many so here is hoping 2021 is better for everyone.

With a new year comes a new game! While I'm not near ready to make the announcement yet for the new game, I am hoping that within the next 3-6 months I'll be able to, hopefully, have a short demo or at the very least a teaser trailer and screenshots along with the steam coming soon page. I may try to seek out some crowdfunding to help fund some outsourcing of quality improvements for the game but I have not yet decided whether or not it would be worth while or achievable for this title.

The most I will say about this next game for now is that it will be very story based and in the sci-fi genre. It will be quite a bit more ambitious to develop than Probe was so there is no telling this early in the development stage whether or not I'll be able to complete it by the end of the this year. I may even consider early access but again, not sure if that will be worthwhile for this title so we shall see where I am at in a few months or so. It all also depends on what life decides to throw my way this year. So far it's not off to the best start but it's only been a few days and still plenty of time left in the year.

Since I'm just about done creating the Game Design Documents (GDDs) for this game, I figured next week I could talk about and share some resources I have found very helpful in the creation of these documents that might help my fellow devs out as well. I know some solo or indie devs don't bother using GDD's but I highly recommend it. I am finding it way more helpful in the mapping out of what this game is exactly going to be and helping plan for it accordingly. So make sure to subscribe if you haven't already to get an update next week when I make the post. Also don't forget to leave Probe a review on Steam if you got it over the winter sale and haven't done so yet. Until next week, I hope everyone is having a good new year so far and that it only gets better from here!
